Our story
We are Natasha, Jeremy and Hayden (10 y.o.), a worldschooling family of three who traded a fixed address for a moving one. We left Ireland, where we lived at the time, in 2020 to explore the world together. Our son was four years old when we set off. Since then we have shared ninety countries together, and he has grown up with the world as his classroom.
What we were really chasing was time. Not a career break or a gap year, but the ordinary hours that ordinarily disappear into commutes and schedules. We wanted breakfasts that were not rushed, afternoons that could change direction, and a childhood we would actually be present for.
Learning without walls
Worldschooling means our son’s education happens wherever we are. History is a rose-red city carved into a cliff at Petra. Geography is the dunes of the Sahara shifting under a camel’s feet. Language is a market in Penang where nobody speaks yours and you work it out anyway, laughing.
We have swum alongside whale sharks in the Philippines, sat with Himba families in Namibia, ridden with herders across the Mongolian steppe, and walked the lantern-lit lanes of Kyoto in a kimono. Our son has learned that people are overwhelmingly kind, that curiosity travels further than any guidebook, and that home is something you carry with you rather than somewhere you live.

We are also building Worldschool Passport, a way to track and celebrate everything a child learns as they move between countries. It grew out of our own journey, and it is in development now.
